bump

My bump has grown… a lot.

Old women keep asking me if I’m having twins.  – boy that’s flattering.

Today is my last day at work, and I am so excited to stay at home, but I have a TON of work to get done before this little guy arrives.

My sister found an old photo of me pretending I was a momma:) Apparently, I have been practicing for this for some time now! My baby bump is a little more defined though! Sorry about the ugly iPhone flash!

My due date is still July 4th, but I’m starting to really doubt I make it that long.

And I can’t tell you how excited I am about my newborn photo session, with my BR business partner, Jennifer Blackburn! We’ve got some cute ideas cooked up!

Oh, and Jeff and I traded in our “used car lot” for last Saturday. I bought a 2011 Chevy Tahoe, #momwagon!, and Jeff bought a 2012 Honda Civic! My car is used, but new to me and I couldn’t be more excited. I have never owned a vehicle with less that 140,000 miles on it at time of purchase, and never owned a vehicle that everything works on it! Anyways, I’m super proud and excited about our new purchases! I’ve made appointments to get a Ranchhand grill guard installed and the windows tinted next week:)

I’m finishing my little man’s nursery next week, and I’ll post pictures.

Until next time!

Western Heritage

The Western Heritage Classic is quickly approaching, and will be here before we know it! My bestie is getting married Friday, May 11, so the hubs and I will miss the Friday night performance, but that is A-OK with me!

This year, I have been asked to help with the WHC Ranch Horse Sale, on Saturday morning, and then of course, we will attend the rodeo that evening.

Every year I spend countless hours planning my wardrobe for this event – this year is no different… but I will be 7 1/2 months pregnant, so I am a little stressed on what I am going to wear! There are only two stores in Midland that sell maternity wear: Motherhood and Target – I’m not impressed.

So I went online and cobbled together two outfits, one for working the sale during the day, and one for the evening rodeo performance.

Daytime:

WHC Maternity WearAnd an evening outfit – sort of a Mexican hodgepodge:

WHC Maternity - Evening Wear

The dress shown above, I have always loved. It’s a bit expensive, but I think it would fit me while I am pregnant and when I’m not… So I think it seems like a solid investment!

I have shoes, boots and jewelry that will come pretty close to matching the outfits I created. Basically, I need to buy the orange tunic and the maxi dress.

Happy Friday!

What to wear?!… pregnant in Vegas!

Some of our dear friends are getting married in three weeks in Las Vegas! We are so very excited for them, and I am so excited for a little vacation! My husband has gone to Vegas numerous times, but this will be my first trip!  I know – being pregnant in Vegas is not ideal, but I’ll make the best of it!

One of my biggest issues, is what in the world am I going to wear? I have skated by thus far pretty well just wearing my normal clothes and using a belly band with a few maternity items. But I don’t know if that will work in three weeks, and the maternity clothes that I have are primarily winter pieces, and are not much fun!

So what’s a gal to wear in Vegas when she has a huge belly?

Maxi dresses and wedges, my friends! I would like to find some cute tops too, that I can pair with my linen pants. Oh, and I need to find a bathing suit… dread:(

Anyways, here are a few photos of cute maternity outfits that I think would be great for Vegas.

Thursday:

Bachelorette Party – Night #1: Lace maternity dress, gaudy jewelry, heels

Friday:

Bridal Luncheon – Daytime + shopping

Denim Capris and strapless maternity tunic – Sorry, I don’t have a photo!

Night #2 – dinner and show – Buy something in Vegas!

Saturday:

Leisure activities

Wedding:  Night #3 – Orange maxi paired with wedges and turquoise jewelry

Sunday:

Travel – Coral linen pants paired with a white maternity burnout tee and sandals

Baby Bump Couture

Baby Robertson is due July 4…and I can definitely say that there is no hiding that I’m preggo!  My belly is getting huge, and I MUST go buy some maternity clothes! The belly band and rubber band trick just won’t do much longer. It’s absolutley torchure walking through Dillards this time of year and seeing all of the beautiful bright colors – all in which DO NOT fit me! So this evening, I am going to Target to stock up.

Here is my belly now, at 24 weeks! Can’t believe I’m 6 months along!

So for my Target trip this evening, I’m thinking along the lines of maxi dresses, maxi skirts, and baseball tee’s.

Readers, do you have any thoughts or suggestions on good maternity clothes?
